Redds landscaping

The "New" Redd. He quit wearing his Harley Hat, and picked up this nice new one at the Swap meet last weekend. The TW is short for "Trail Way", a Dual Sport motorcycle for on and off road. He shaved off his big handlebar mustache because a miner skin cancer that is being taken care of. Just doesn't look like the same ol' Redd, but he still sounds and acts the same :-)

Redd and Michelle planted this Hibiscus a few days ago. It's already loaded with blossoms, due to Redd's withered up old Green Thumb. -)

The back and sides of the Old Apache Hotel is starting to look like a museum

Stuff..

One of the fire pits. He has 2 now.

Plants and things....

A corner spot.

Redd dug out a whole bunch of trash and junked parts, and built this nice little shrine, with a Fig tree and other plants and shrubs

Citrus and palm trees. Also a grape vine back there, and another fig tree

The back of the old Hotel.

Not a working wheel barrow now.

An old cook stove. Remember you can click on picture to see them better

The swing

The Sparrows can empty this feeder in 3 days, even when it's filled to the top.

Kingman and Mexico

Yuma this afternoon. Put the stock mufflers back on our Harley, the aftermarket ones could break windows and set off car alarms! :-) They sounded good to me, but were sort of obnoxious to others. It's now nice and quiet.

Our first stop on the trip to Kingman yesterday was Ooops! Our favorite "used food" store. :-) We went to Yuma to check out the place that our Daughter-in-Law owns there. It's been empty for a long time. It all turned out OK.

11/12/10 Redd and I went to Mexico. Haircuts, Teeth cleaning, eating, and bought pastry and some Tamales to bring home. This was a good breakfast. Not my favorite place though, this one is too nice.

Ed and Carl Anderson. And Pat. We're in the Golden Coral for lunch. Ed and Carl are brothers that are vroc friends who live in Kingman.

Back to Mexico. this is a good place to eat Fish tacos, and, a Wonderful place to eat or take out Tamales.

A new kind of Pink Flamingo this year. I may have to pick up one of these beauties on my next trip down here. A street in Algodones, Mexico.

Back in Yuma. This is a bike I have out at at "Park and Sell" lot. Hope someone buys it soon.

1st Dirt ride of season

About 20 miles of dirt, gravel and sand lay ahead. We're headed for the Picacho California State Recreation area. It's on the California side of the Colorado River. That's Quartz Peak in the distance.

Barren land, but we're getting closer. Quartz Peak looks different from here.

Redd on his T-Dub. Looks like Badlands..it is.

Canyons carved by Flash floods and other natural occurrences. It's pretty down here.

A dark cloud. No rain in the forecast, but it's only 80 degrees today. Coolest day in the two weeks we've been down here.

These little TW200's are perfect for this kind of riding. Very low geared, but will easily go 60 mph if needed. We cruised mostly between 30 and 40. Lots of sliding around.

We're getting closer. Quartz Peak.

Closest we got to the Peak.

There are Burro trails in and out of this canyon. Not unusual to see wild ones in this area.

Redd was going a little too fast down this grade, and couldn't get out of the loose sand of the berm. So, down he went! Hurt his knee and foot a little, but he'll live. Bike only got a few scratches, and self adjusted some things we were able to fix.

The headlight cover was full of rocks, this is after we got most of them out. :-)

Looking up a high bluff.

Big rock and Sky. Pictures don't do it justice.

We thought this would be a nice place to camp out sometime. Sheltered from the wind.

Redd by the All American Canal. This starts North of Yuma at the Imperial Dam on the Colorado. It goes down to Mexico, then turns West and Irrigates the Imperial Valley.

A 2010 and a 2008. Both bikes worked perfect. They get close to 80 mpg!

Short ride to Somerton

Rode the Scooter down to Somerton, 10 miles North of the Border town of San Luis. 5:30 PM on Sunday, and the store was very busy. I looked for a few minutes for shoe polish, then asked a guy and girl that were stocking shelves. They looked at each other, talked about it, then decided they didn't have a clue of what I wanted. So, took off my shoe and pretended to shine it. Ahhh, the light came on, and they took me right to the Kiwi polish. And, I was still in the US of A!

I passed 5 or 6 of these street vendors. The smells of the Carne Asada was too much, had to stop for ONE taco. It was delicious.

One of the 3 Casino's in the Yuma area.

It was just dusk. The lights on the Palm trees and the Casino are very pretty at night. Like any Casino :-) Hope to get some good Fall Desert pictures later this week.

First couple days in Yuma

Pat followed me over to this RV storage place. It's close to our park. they charge $20 a month to park here. There is a high fence all around, and, at 5 PM when they close a couple over very big and hungry dogs patrol all night. they have never had a problem with any of the RV being broken into.

Getting the bikes ready to ride and a couple to sell. Sorry Jim, I'll get the bicycles off your house tomorrow :-)

Ex-neighbor Redd has moved into the old historic Apache Hotel that is owned by his ex-wife. It's working out good for them, and he's done an amazing amount of work outside.

He move all his antiques from Jim and Katie's place over to this location in Old Town. It's really coming along nicely.

Fire pit. Redd want's to have a vroc party here this winter if we get some Winter visitors.

He surprised me with my own bench to sit by the fire :-)

Redd showing Pat and I around

Starting to look like sort of a park around the old hotel.

Aligators and mermaids in the bath tub

The 1500 A (Cat bike) is all charged up, cleaned up, and ready to take out to the park and sell. I've ran out of room, and the management in the park has been sort of hinting that I've taking up too much room with "stuff". All's well, they are really good people.

Close to the Marine Air Base, this will be a good location. Also, it's on the route from the Foothills to town. Hundreds of Snowbirds drive by here every day. Hopefully the bike will sell fast.

Back at Redd's.

Frogs at play

The old Greyhound Station in the Hotel Del Sol. An old landmarl. Restaurant, Nightclub, Taven, Hotel and Bus Depot. Several movies have been made in and around this building. Only a block away from the Hotel Apache.

It was a large Hotel in it's day. Right next to the Railroad Station, that has been torn down. Used to be right in the middle of the Red Light district of Yuma

Back at the house. It's in the mid 80's, but I'm wearing the coat because it was part of "the deal". That's Redd's new TW200, and behind me is the 2009 Sportster 1200 Custom Low, Limited Edition. That's Jim and Katie's house in the background.

There it is..Needs some personal touches and adjustments, and it will be the "Arizona Harley"
